My Purpose Journey
One of my favorite books of all time is “The Purpose Driven” Life by Rick Warren.
This book was my breakthrough pathfinder. Before taking the 40-days journey through purpose discovery, I did not live a life of purpose consciously. I was just a teen going about life as it came. All I knew was going to school, going to church, helping parents, and one day finding a speaking career, marry and living happily ever after! My big laugh!
Nothing is more uplifting than finally being able to actually define where you want to go and understanding why you want to travel that road. What happens often is that we struggle with our careers, education, families, loved ones, and friends because we really do not know why we even exist.
Note that when you know your purpose you no longer struggle with those, but that purpose discovery helps you minimize problems in these areas, and keeps you on a constant happiness equilibrium.
How I came to define what I really wanted was through the burden I felt inside of me whenever I heard of or witnessed derogatory situations that had anything to do with young girls. I always wondered why a young girl will allow her name to be dragged in the mud because of a guy! Well, some said it was “for love” which at the end of the day, no one could really see its manifestations.
I did not know much back then, all I knew was I did not like it and something had to be done. My purpose journey started when I felt the burden, asked questions, and sought answers. And the first response I ever got about living right was covered in pages.
Many have different ways in which they discovered their purposes. But no matter how you come to realize that this is what you want to do for the rest of your life, your purpose must be born out of passion, love, burdens, desire, skill-set, knowledge, and many other factors put together.
The point here is, you cannot really say you have started living unless you really know why you are living! It does not come out clearly in a day. It is revealed as you grow in doing something, as you grow in your career, in maturity, education, and what have you?
It is very important for every young girl out there hoping to become limelight someday to begin asking herself, if she has not yet, the purpose question: what are you here on earth for? God has a universal plan for us all, which is to bring us to Salvation but in that ultimate plan, we are born differently to fulfill his will in different strategies.

Your strategy of bringing God glory, meeting needs, serving humanity, and making money is wrapped under the umbrella of purpose.
After going through the Purpose Driven Life, I decided to give myself a sense of life direction which has affected all of me which is solely about bringing glory to God through the lives of teenage girls, equipping them to become virtuous women.
Nothing bids this in my entire life. If there’s any way I want to serve, it is serving in the spotlight of young girls, drawing them to God’s light in me.
What are you here for? Why do you even build the skills you build? Why do you school? Why do you even want to make so much money? Why are you dating? Not everyone can clearly define what they want, that is why you need guidance and I am here to help you with that. No one lacks a purpose, all you need is help to find yours.
Dear teenage girl, as an adult, I would advise you rather focus on discovering who you are and who you want to become because when you are able to define that, a lot about you will be redefined. And you will be sure to achieve more in your life, even before adulthood.
